American Piping Products CEO quoted in Metal Center News

St. Louis, Mo. — American Piping Products CEO Al Rheinnecker shared his insight on improvements in the state of the piping industry in the February issue of Metal Center News.

Rheinnecker explained that thinning inventories during a bottom-out in prices in 2016 positioned the company well for an ongoing rebound for oil and gas production related products.

“Our inventory is in good shape today because of what we started nine months ago,” he told the magazine.

He added that prices also climbed for welded pipe. “Welded pipe has been up dramatically the last three months, 10-15 percent. Nobody is sure if that’s demand-driven or due to raw material increases.”

The magazine indicated the good news could be attributed in part to the presidency of Donald Trump.

“I don’t think Trump is going to be a panacea, but the regulatory environment is going to be a lot better,” Rheinnecker said.
