Steve is a graduate of Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where he played soccer and earned his degree in Marketing in 1989. What followed was a career in the steel industry that has now spanned 37 years — a testament to a genuine love for the work and the people it connects him with.
For Steve, the heart of the job has always been relationships. He takes pride in developing long-term partnerships with his customers, working for them as much as with them, and being someone they can genuinely rely on. A big part of what keeps him energized at APP is the autonomy the company affords its people — the trust to run his day like his own business and make the right calls for his customers. After nearly four decades in the industry, that kind of ownership still means a lot.
Outside the office, Steve is a proud St. Louis sports fan who enjoys taking in live games across the city’s teams. Summers find him at the Lake of the Ozarks, and family time is always at the top of the list. He’s been married for 29 years, is the proud father of three, and a grandfather — a role he clearly relishes. When it’s time to unwind with some live music, you’ll find him in the front section of a Kenny Chesney show.
